From the recent snowpocalypse

I found this picture today when I was clearing files off my camera. I'd completely forgotten I'd taken it, but it totally cracked me up.

I'm guessing he likes snow

This morning, our local news station was breathlessly predicting 7 to 12 inches of snow for Wednesday morning, to which Todd and I both succinctly replied, "You've GOT to be shitting me." Now the forecast has been revised to a more conservative "ICY DEATH AWAITS US ALL." I chalk this shift up less to my fabled anti-snow powers and more to the fact that, despite our skepticism, Todd went online and ordered a snow shovel. You know, just in case.

Snow Day!

My Anti-Snow powers have been defeated!

The back yard

We got 6 to 8 inches of snow at our house. All roads in Huntsville have been declared impassible (although, much to my surprise, it turns out we do have two snowplows graders that think they're snowplows in the county). My office is offically closed today, and since road conditions are expected to be worse tomorrow, hopefully we'll be closed again tomorrow.

This is Micah's first real snow. We bought him a little set of snow boots and a snow suit to wear in Colorado (ha ha ha, oh optimsm), and they've finally been put to use. He's down for his nap now, but we've already been outside to play twice. After the first few minutes of total confusion, he decided he LOVES it.

First time in real snow!

Footprints

The dog, on the other hand, would like to register that although she is a Husky, she is an ALABAMA Husky. And she does NOT do snow.

Our Husky is NOT a snow dog
